Quick EV News

  1. Rivian surpassed Wall Street’s expectations by delivering 12,640 vehicles in the second quarter, marking a 59% increase from the previous quarter and reaffirming its annual production target of 50,000 units.
  2. In its second-quarter report, Tesla disclosed that it achieved a total delivery count of 466,140 vehicles and a production figure of 479,700 vehicles, exceeding analysts’ predictions and demonstrating an impressive 83% rise compared to the previous year.
  3. In June, BYD, set a new sales record by delivering 253,046 vehicles, surpassing the previous month’s record and signaling a robust revival in China’s EV sector.
  4. Beijing-based Li Auto, Shanghai-based Nio, and Guangzhou-based Xpeng, three major Chinese electric car makers, experienced a surge in sales in June, indicating a strong recovery in the Chinese EV industry and potentially boosting the country’s economic revival, with Li Auto achieving an all-time high of 32,575 deliveries, Nio delivering 10,707 cars, and Xpeng seeing a 14.8% month-on-month increase to 8,620 units.
  5. Colorado now offers one the most generous electric vehicle EV tax credit in the country, providing a $5,000 incentive for EVs under $80,000.
  6. Pricing details for Kia’s upcoming EV9 three-row SUV have been revealed in Europe, with the base model starting at €74,990, indicating a higher price than initially anticipated, and suggesting a possible price range of around $60,000 to $67,000 for the US market.
