How to Write a Resignation Letter: A Template

You’ve just accepted an offer for your dream job! Congratulations! If you are like most people, this generally means you have two weeks to get all of your affairs in order at your former employer, including handing in your resignation letter. While resigning from a job and moving on to something better isn’t that uncommon, trying to find the right words to leave without burning bridges can feel uniquely uncomfortable. Resignation Letter Template

Dear [Manager’s Name],

I am writing to inform you that I am resigning from my position as [Job Title] at [Company Name]. My last day of work will be [Date].

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the opportunity to work with [Company Name]. During my time here, I have gained valuable experience and learned a great deal from my colleagues. I will always be grateful for the time I spent here.

The reason for my resignation is that I have accepted a new position that will allow me to further my career. I am excited about this new opportunity and look forward to the challenges it will bring.

I would like to offer my assistance during the transition period. I am happy to train my replacement, complete any outstanding tasks or prepare a handover document. Please let me know how I can assist in making the transition as smooth as possible.
